Vance, the cold call agent.
Vance picks up the phone. He runs on Vapi for the call itself, Gemini for the conversation logic, and cal.com for the booking handoff, then dials in a voice you'd be happy hearing yourself, qualifies in real time, and books on your calendar the moment a prospect says yes.
Quick facts

What he actually does on a call
- Opens with the contact's first name and the reason he's calling, grounded in one real signal from the list (company, title, recent news).
- Listens to the response, no scripted next line. If the contact says "now's not great", Vance offers to try later and ends.
- If there's interest, he pivots to qualifying questions you set on the campaign, then offers a meeting.
- On a yes, he calls cal.com's checkAvailability, reads back two or three concrete slots, and books the one the prospect picks. Confirmation lands in the prospect's inbox before the call ends.
- On a no or a soft no, he thanks them, hangs up, marks the contact as called, and moves on.
What he will not do
- Won't dial outside the hour window. Each cold-call step has a callStartHour and callEndHour, calls outside that range get queued for the next allowed slot, never placed.
- Won't dial someone already engaged. If Eli or Mira got a reply on the same contact inside the same flow, Vance skips the row, that's Atlas's coordination at work.
- Won't pretend to be human. If the contact asks "is this an AI?", Vance answers honestly and keeps the conversation going if they're still interested.
- Won't book without confirming. Slot, name, email, time zone, all read back before the booking tool fires. No drive-by bookings.
Where he fits
Single-channel cold calling, you launch a Cold Call campaign from the dashboard, point Vance at a list of phone numbers, set the call window, and let him work. Inside an Atlas flow Vance is the call step, the engine waits for his outcome before deciding whether to fire the next step on a different channel. Recordings and transcripts live on the team page so you can listen back to anything that booked or anything that didn't.
How to put him to work
- Wire Vapi, Gemini, and cal.com, walkthrough here.
- Build a list with a phone number column on /dashboard/leads.
- Click
+ New campaign, pick Cold Call, set the call window, paste the assistant id and number id from Vapi, write the qualifying script (or let Ciela draft it), hit Launch. - Watch dialed, connected, and booked on /dashboard/team/vance, listen to the recording on any row that booked.
